Located in the quaint neighborhood that is Tiong Bahru, Parable transformed one of the old units into an alluring and uplifting home studio for Calla Lily.
In an interview with Design Anthology, Ken Yuktasevi, Parable Studio’s founder and creative director, shares that ‘Emily wanted a humane and inspiring jeweller’s home studio that relates to her patrons while optimising the original space. Her personality and creative persona also had to be communicated in an elegant way. We referenced her favourite colours, love for Art Deco and gem obsession through colours and detailing.’
As an elegant entrance greets her customers, they are welcomed into a cozy space furnished with a bold, textural palette. The interior was opened up, allowing abundant natural light to enter the space. Design Anthology also added that “Multifunctionality is enabled with moveable elements such as a curtain and the timber and rattan screen around the main office. The sequencing of space is carefully orchestrated to gently define zones and create an unintimidating experience”.
In an exclusive interview with Calla Lily’s founder, Emily and Ken, Design Anthology has beautifully articulated the design intention of the space. Read the full feature here
